Why the rooster?

I met him in Maui a few weeks ago, and we became friends.  And now I've stopped eating chicken because it seems gross and not a good friend move.

I love animals, and the outdoors, and worry about what we'll leave of that for future generations. I also believe if we're not helping people out of poverty we're doomed not to succeed in any of our efforts. 

Here are some links to people who are fighting the good fight.  When I feel especially lousy, I give them some money.  Maybe if you're having a bad day pay them a visit and it could cheer you up too.
